Barbeque Smokers and Grills

Barbeque Smokers and GrillsBarbeque Smokers and Grills

We have a total of five tow able BBQ smokers for rent and a tow able Gas BBQ Grill.
You can cook a lot of meat on these grills as they are very large. These barbecue and gas barbecue grills are perfect for large parties. We provide the propane for you as well. You just pay for however much propane you use.

The Smoking Technique

  • Plenty of barbecue chefs love Barbeque smokers. Smokers use lower heat and longer cooking times to cook meat.  Chef’s who loves smokers say that smokers cook meat that has more flavor and is more tender. Meat is typically left in smokers for hours, and is coated with a rub or sauces before being cooked. The temperature in a smoker usually ranges from 175 degrees Fahrenheit to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.

Types of Smokers

  • Smokers are typically large barrel-shaped cookers.  A smoker has racks that you cook the meat on. The smoker is filled with charcoal or wood. Usually the main fuel is covered with a layer of damp wood chips.  Wood chips produce most of the flavorful smoke that cooks the barbecue.  Chefs say hickory, maple and cherry wood chips give the meat different flavors. The fuel is located in a different area than the meat. The smoke from the fuel is filtered into the smoker compartment so the meat receives indirect heat while cooking.

Cook slowly at low heat

  • Barbecue smokers produce tender, flavorful meat because of this process. The low temperatures allow the meat to cook slowly. The smoke is what is cooking the food and the meat absorbs the smoke as it cooks.  The smoke is what gives barbecued meat its extra flavor.

Kerosene

Kerosene is not as widely available as it once was in the US, but we have Kerosene and propane here at A and J Time Rentals.  We sell Kerosene in bulk so bring in your container and we will fill it.

The Amish still use kerosene for their lighting at night.  In addition to lighting, kerosene is used for heating and cooking, fire-breathing, and cleaning gunk from motorcycle and bicycle chains!

  • There are some advantages to storing kerosene over other fuels. For one thing, kerosene does not have explosive vapors, so it is much safer to store than the other fuels.  Kerosene is also inexpensive.  Unlike gasoline, it does not need to be treated with a fuel stabilizer.
  • Some of the drawbacks: of kerosene: when kerosene burns it is smoky and has a strong odor.  Kerosene requires priming, and you’ll need to buy wicks.  If you store kerosene for long periods of time water will accumulate in the fuel and you’ll need to filter it out.
  • If you decide to store kerosene, you need to know that it must be stored in blue containers, so that it not mistaken for gasoline.  You can get 5 gallon containers at places like hardware stores.  Make sure to keep it in a tightly-sealed container, out of sunlight, and keep it away from big temperature swings.

Your Denver Propane Sales & Service

A & J Time Rentals offers propane and kerosene sales and service.

Also we provide service to homes and businesses in Denver and surrounding areas.

Propane Near Me

Propane is a clean–burning, versatile fuel. It is used by nearly everyone in the United States—in homes, on farms, by business, and in industry— mostly for producing heat and operating equipment.

Q: Who uses propane?

YOU DO! More than 6 million households use propane to meet some of their energy needs. Nearly a million households use propane as their main heating source. About one-fourth of mobile homes use propane for heating. A third of America’s farms—660,000—use propane to help meet their energy needs.

More than one million business and commercial establishments— such as hotels, schools, hospitals, restaurants, and laundromats—use propane for heating and cooling, cooking and refrigerating food, heating water, and lighting.

More than 350,000 industrial sites use propane as fuel.

Q: Why would I choose propane over electric for my appliances and for heating my home?

Affordability and Reliability. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, it costs about half as much to operate your range, water heater, dryer or furnace with gas as it would with electricity. Propane gas furnaces and heaters provide more consistent warm air throughout your home or place of business at a lower cost than electric heat pumps and have a longer average life span of 20 years compared with electric heat pumps’ 12-year average life span.

Q: Is propane safe to the environment?

Yes. Propane is an approved, alternative clean fuel listed in the 1990 Clean Air Act and the National Energy Policy Act of 1992. Propane is one of the cleanest burning of all alternative fuels. New propane-fueled vehicles can meet the very tough Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standards, and one model even meets the Super Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) standards. Propane is also non-toxic, so it is not harmful to soil or water.
